Thanks, but sorted it.

It was due to an Activision update which clashed with a MS Beta release from March this year - I uninstalled all Beta updates, unenrolled from MS Insider Preview, rebooted, and everything's hunky-dory (except for waiting for the game shaders to load, as they always need to after the Activision update).

Thanks for the advice - much appreciated.
