Perhaps I should have clarified that I was comparing Sky Q against Virgin’s offering (not including Virgin Stream).

Older boxes don’t always cope with the newer technology too well. If this impacts on performance, it makes Virgin look bad. So they either have to force you to change or they will deny that streamer to your box.
