The british public on a whole seems to be apathetic to the state of politics, preferring instead to focus on 'here's three new things you never knew you could do on your iphone' , 'Mrs. Miggins five minute kitchen clean that will make it sparkle' & 'healthcare assistant from dumfries transforms kitchen using B&M buys'
This makes the point that the country better than bumbles on without government. Business does business, doctors treat patients; buses and trains run (subject to strikes), electricity flow, water flows, etc.

With government in place, you'd be lucky to get a doctor appointment; electricity is at risk; sewage gets into our rivers; train drivers go on strike, etc.

It wasn't much different at various times, with various governments, in the past.
