The sideloading suggestion does, sort of, make sense if the aim is to stream from not very legitimate sources and I guess that's what the reference to "the scene" suggests. On the whole though, Roku does seem to carry most if not all of the mainstream providers.

I used to develop GUIs for Kodi and it is more to do with code and what can be done over piracy.
