I'd estimate that 95% of TV channels are simply a means of blasting you with adverts (whether you watch them or skip them). The 'filler' between the adverts doesn't really amount to much in many cases, to be fair you may as well watch the shopping channels instead

If you took all the 'good' content and condensed it onto about 15 channels, you'd get decent quality viewing . . . but that won't happen because it's the adverts that drive the TV market
