Excel Protecting cells for named people

Hi all

I need to send out a large spreadsheet for people to update.

The names are in column C and I would like them to update column P. As there are 100's of names I suggest people filter on their name and update column P accordingly.

Is there 'any way' of protecting column P so only people with the correct name on the same line can update it as I am concerned that people will fill in the wrong cell in column P against somebody else's names.

Hope that makes sense and would appreciate any advice or comment on the best way of doing this.

Many thanks for your help and time

Regards

Mike
