If the government had asked and no evidence was found, that'd be great - we could put the debate to bed right now, but by not asking the question they've left it open for debate much longer. That wouldn't have stopped the Remain side, Nothing but total overturning of the democratic decision would do that.


At least with the usual conspiracy theories(eg 5G and Covid), there is a chance to disprove or prove it. Until somebody can actually come up with the "X" in "X happened, who was responsible", there is nothing that could be proven or disproven. Has anybody come up with an "X" of any substance and effect?
