Re: How many processes do you have running RIGHT NOW?

My Linux box (ps -ef | wc -l) gives 298 (less one for the header line) is 297. Of these 105 are owned by my account.
That said things work differently so there are lots of background tasks that are then used by my email tool - this do the actual communications stuff so the tool can simply utilise them and display the results.
At the system level, each Windows partitions mounted has own process, looks like each CPU core has some sort of process and so on.
If I look at the screen I'm running KDE plasma desktop, Kontact (email/calendar/contacts/RSS feeds), Konversation (IRC client), Firefox, Konsole (shell) and some stuff like Dropbox and Megasync.
