Unified SSID
Hello all. Lurked and learned a lot here over the years. Could do with some advice regarding benefits or otherwise of a shared SSID across an ASUS airmesh network and repurposed Superhub 2 used as distant wireless acess point. Am nervous would adversely effect airmesh network which is currently working well.
The airmesh works great inside but not so well outside. Has an Ethernet backhaul. Outside have used a redundant SH2 with its Virgin SSID - it connects to ASUS router via powerline adaptors. Not the speediest but allow music streaming outside. Main issue is on returning indoors phones etc often retain Superhub network and have to manually switch to Asus network. Would a single shared SSID cause any problems? Would sharing the same one mean automatic switching to strongest WiFi signal?
Reason to ponder this now I shave just been given a pals old SH2 which plan to use at bottom of the garden as a second acess point (powerline connection again to router) - so an opportune time to set up a unified SSID If there are no obvious drawbacks. So anything determental to a unified SSID betwixt ASUS airmesh networks and the two SH2 access points? If so, any pros/cons to shared SSID between the two SH2s?Grateful for the advice from the gurus here.
