Depends what you mean by "core".

Core Optical, Core IP.

Huawei are not massive on optical components Ciena, Infinera, ECI are more widely used in Europe for this so in that regard I am confident they wont be used.

But certainly for higher up the OSI model, after all like all good Chinese outfits they got into the space by blatantly ripping off Cisco equipment and software.

The security concern is not just about personal data or China listening in, it is also about whether a malicious code can be inserted into the network to disrupt it.

In the connected world of the future every thing will be connected via 5G or future evolutions of that.

It's absolute mayhem in my house if the Wi-Fi goes down, or is slow, now. Just imagine what it would be like in 40years, and then someone turned it off!
