Well chaps, we host Man Utd in a few days and the pitch is in a terrible condition
We could get contractors in to tart it up for the TV, but then we couldn't afford to pay the players & staff this month
hmmm, and the police bill will be larger than usual too . . . sod it, it's only Man Utd
