A single hot summer, freak weather event or very cold winter doesn't prove anything obviously. You cannot link any one thing directly to climate change, it doesn't work like that.

Climate change increases the chances of more extreme weather.

The question is are we seeing 'freak' events more often? It's correct to say you cannot point to any one event as because due to global warming but if you have to do that more and more then maybe something is changing in the climate.
