Re: Superhub

I would personally recommend one of these instead, either 5 port or 8 port. Food for thought depending how you want to connect everything:

1) you can either connect one more switch to the shub to "extend" the number of ports available whilst keeping all cabled connections in the same physical location
2) depending where the devices are located and how many you are thinking of adding in the future it might be worth situating a switch in the same location as the devices and just having the one cable running from the switch to the shub. It achieves the same objective however you are moving the switch closer to the devices. As an example, I have got one room with a pc, printer and NAS in and those devices are connected to a switch in that room. In my sitting room I have got many devices including tv, Sky etc which are connected to a switch right next to them so all the cables are in the same place. I have got other bedrooms with other stuff in which each have their own switch. Each of the switches (access layer switches) then only has one cable running to another switch (distribution layer switch) which then connects to my shub. This way (apart from good networking) the cables stay nice and tidy around the house rather than each device having its own cable run straight to the shub or switch in the same geographical location.
