Why would you ever need to record VOD? The whole point of it is that it's On Demand i.e. accessible whenever you want it.

The only exception is where some providers allow you to temporarily download content to a mobile device for access where you have no data connection (or where you're outside your home country). But that wouldn't be needed for a static PVR box.
