Re: Local Elections - 2017

Back to the topic, the UKIP vote around here took a nosedive, and the Tory vote rose by almost the same amount - not hard to figure out what happened there.

In our local result, the swing was nothing short of amazing.

In 2013, the Lib Dems won with 45% of the vote, the Tory candidate got just 8%, UKIP 13%, and Labour 31%.

This time the Tories won with 39%, Lib Dems 2nd with 28%, and UKIP got 7%, Labour dropped to 23%.

At one point in the (not so distant) past, this was a Labout stronghold.
