So at a guess I'd assume that when they're talking about up-scaling of the TV, then they're connecting an HD source to the TV e.g something like the current TiVo. As the TV is getting an HD input in, it then knows to upscale using it's own system.

However if the V6 is only set at 2160p, then it's outputting a 4K picture only, so the TV will just show that. It also means that it's the V6 doing the HD (and SD) upscale.

I think you may be able to get around this by also selecting the HD picture formats in the V6 Display settings.

This may make the V6 output HD channels in 1080, and then the TV will recognise it's not 4K and apply it's own upscale system.

Just a little disclaimer here - I have no idea what the quality of the HD upscale is like in the V6 in comparison to your TV. Nor have I seen HD on a 4K TV.
