Re: Offer smaller portions, chip shops urged
I haven't been able to eat standard takeaway portions for the last few years i get full and stop usually just under halfway through the amount and whilst i don't agree with all portion sizes being cut I'd appreciate being able to choose from smaller portion sizes. It really is time we grew out of the nannying tendency whereby the whole must suffer because of one part. Whilst I'm very aware there are a number of medical conditions that can cause people to be overweight and obese there are a group of people who are too lazy to do it themself and would over indulge whatever food.
There's a woman up the road who constantly complains about her weight and the problems it cause's but has those four packs of dairy cakes in her basket everyday and a guy a couple of doors up from her who only seems to eat the really cheap and nasty sausages and frozen chips, although he has an alcohol issue and i think buys just two types of cheap food to free up the max amount for his vodka. Instead of calling for a blanket reduction in portion size have more portion size options a far more adult way to deal with things and having smaller portion sizes would remove the excuses some use.
