On the contrary we all recognise exactly what the honours system is about and it isn't to reward sportsmen or actors, it's to reward cronies for keeping their mouths shut or doing dirty deeds, the odd sop to an athlete is merely to distract the public from that imo.

Its interesting that the lottery can provide support to the tune of 3/4 billion for elite athletes whilst at the same time 300 swimming pools have shut in the same time frame.
