re: I support strikes that make passengers safer
This has got bog all to do with safety and everything to do with trade unions trying to preserve jobs for their members - which is understandable as that's what they're there for, but I'd prefer them to be honest about it.
The RMT are agitating in Scotland over this at the moment too, claiming that there has to be a second person on board to operate the doors. They hate driver only trains, and claim they're not safe, even though a huge number of Glasgow's suburban services have been run this way for years without any obvious carnage.
