'sluggish TiVo' --- speedy enough for me when used as a PVR.
'useless VOD' ---- with Amazon Prime, Netflix and Now TV, there is no need for Tivo's VOD.
'lack of content' ---- the only
significant missing content is Sky Atlantic. That has always been the case. Again available via Now TV.
By mixing TV M or M+, plus the above streaming services, you can get wide content coverage at a reasonable cost. It's a case of thinking outside the 'all Virgin or all Sky' box.
