Re: Military coup in Turkey?
There's no hope. Its the same old follow the lead of the US/ NATO whom would never really risk dampening relations with Turkey because they're just so close to Russia and who doesn't love plonking their jets that close! So any sense of morality goes out of the window when it comes to actually questioning Erdogan and his dictator like leadership. So long as Turkey allow their land to be used for US reasons then everyone just has to turn a blind eye. The response of the western world for Turkey downing a Russian jet over a 17 second excursion really showed the attitude to Turkey as a whole. Had it been the other way round I feel certain that Russia would have been condemned.
They're mess of a country with countless problems that are simply ignored because they serve the United States' best interests.
Erdogan sent his public into the street. Some civillians, some thugs. 250 dead. Soldiers tortured and countless things wrong with his response and all the US is bothered about is the finger pointing. Embarrasing to have a country like that representing NATO and it would be pretty astonishing to see them get anywhere near EU membership. The EU of course being noted for its human rights etc. Something Erodgan and Turkey forget exists.
