Erodgan may have dodged the bullet this time but I don't think it will be long before it blows up again he is just a complete ******* and more and more Turks are seeing it and resenting it. I think the military jumped prematurely overestimating the public mood and assuming wider support that they didn't get in the end. If erodgan reacts in his normal manner there will now be a purge of the military that Stalin would be proud of which will ensure future plots.
NATO will not get involved as it's an internal matter and is not going to escalate beyond Turkey's borders erodgan could request assistance technically but his ego will prevent that. There will no doubt be some meetings within NATO as instability within a member nations military is not something that can be accepted and if this continues to any degree for any length of time I wouldn't be surprised if turkey is asked to suspend it's NATO membership.
As usual it will be the ordinary people that will suffer the most.
