How much space remains on COM8 depends on how much space Arqiva has agreed to make available to the BBC.

There are several part-time slots available on the other COM multiplexes, if Viacom are only looking for EPG squatting slots, these would be ideal. They seem to be obtaining licences for +1 channels at the moment, if they have obtained extra capacity and want to operate full time channels, it would make sense to make VIVA and 5USA +1 full time rather than adding new services.

It's also possible that Arqiva could follow SDN's lead and squeeze an extra video channel onto COM5 and COM6 at the expense of video quality, maybe Viacom could be interested in one of these. It will be interesting to keep an eye on Viacom's moves on all platforms.

As we have seen from Sky's determination to bring Sky Atlantic to VM.

Oh wait...
Well if vm paid the asking fee they would of gotten it.
