So. Router > WiFi > Tab = No connection
Phone > WiFi > Tab = Connection fine ?

I had this issue on an old S3, Mobile data would function but my WiFi via VM just wouldn't work unless I reset the router. Worth a shot if you haven't already. Yes the Router was already functioning fine for my other devices too, was a strange one.

In fact this still happens from time to time now on the HTC one M9.

I rarely to to the actual VM section anymore so this may not matter or have never mattered:

The DHCP setting in the router. There have to be enough addresses for the tab to get one. (If you allow 5 addresses and 5 devices are already connected, the phone won't get an IP address.)

Try swapping the device between the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi options.
