I got one of those too, thought I was special
Many many years ago when I lived in London I went to one of these research meetings for BT when they were launching residential ADSL for the first time. I remember being in a room with around 12 other people and being watched from behind a one-way screen by big-wigs and being filmed. would never do it again.
Anyway, I got an invite to a trial a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything back but I know it wasn't for powerline adapters.
