On the flip side you post regularly expecting councils and government to have bottomless pits of money to supply the services you believe you're entitled to.

Wanting public services as long as someone else pays seems to be a recurring theme.

There are a couple of very good pubs near you, including the famous Turk's Head. I spent a lot of really good afternoons there. I'd love to have a pub of that quality nearby. Your mileage may of course vary as to what you think makes a good pub. The Crown and to a lesser extent St Margaret's Inn were also superb.

Ah working weekends with 3 days off in the middle of the week: going for a boozy lunch in Brula, followed by more booze in The Crown, then picking up the daughter from Orlean's Infants. Happy, hazy days
