I think bt issue still is they can't compete directly with sky and virgin due to capacity, bt is better than freeview but still leagues away from the rest. I look forward to pricing but we will need to wait and see if they try £199 like TiVo was when sky is £99 if you have broadband or movies and sports

The retail Tivo in the US is being discontinued as most people who want to spend on subscription TV get their PVRs from their cable or satellite companies and those that don't want to pay subscription fees don't want to pay Tivo fees either! I don't think any of the Tivos distributed via cable companies will allow external hard drive functionality as the content providers would charge a lot more for their content if this functionality was permitted. |
As far as I remember cable companies want to start using TiVo instead of seperate devices
