Do not allow others to influence your decision dilli. What is imprtant is your health, both physical and mental. Making a choice on cost should be the last thing on your mind. You and Natalie have to live with your final decision so quality of life is a far, far more important consideration than cost at this stage.
I too could have taken the cheaper route and I know that I would not have been here to-day to make this post had I done so.
Some people might say that the life of an elderly woman wasn't worth the thousands of pounds that I know I have cost the NHS this last few years but you know what? My family and friends don't agree. The cost of my medications and hospital treatments were very high but they kept me alive. I ran out of mainstream options last year and was offered a life line and the results of the US trial I have been luckily enough to get on have given other, younger, people more hope for a future.
