They are just doing what most businesses do try to retain customers, vm also offer deals if you try to leave as do BT and many others it is called business.
You are free to leave at anytime from any company once you fulfill your contract no-one is preventing anyone from leaving, all SKY and VM are doing is trying to retain customers and throwing in sweetners such as discounts.
