Well I have good and bad news:
The good news is that the connection hasn't dropped in 14 days (and counting).
Bad news is that the GUI is now not resolving (it was working yesterday), a lot better than before but still not how it should be. It will probably need a manual reboot for the GUI to be responsive again.
