Smile Re: Rate the last movie you saw

The Force Awakens - at least 9.8 out of 10!

Oh, BTW, I didn't see any of the supposed bloopers...but that's probably because I wasn't bloody well looking for them!!! I was doing what - correct me if I'm wrong - you're supposed to do when you go to see a film: I watched the damn film!!! Bloopers be bleeped!!!

I was greatly concerned - as of course were hundreds of millions of Star Wars fans worldwide - that the spirit of the original film could never be recaptured. We needn't have worried. J.J. Abrams got it spot on.

Spoiler:
The only thing I was concerned about was/is Kylo Ren; he seems too young to be so steeped in evil. Mind you...stopping a blaster bolt in midair?! Whoa, major Force power there! Where'd he learn that trick?! It was the coolest thing since Darth Maul's lightstaff!

And who or what exactly is the Supreme Leader? Where was he when Darth Sidious was consolidating the Empire and his Force powers? Hopefully there'll be a bit of background info in the next film and/or the novelisation of this one.

Who retrieved Luke's/Vader's lightsabre from Cloud City, and why?

How did anyone steal the Falcon?! I'd have thought Han and Chewie would fight to the death rather than let that happen!

But the music and sound effects definitely echoed the original and did the business; it just wouldn't be Star Wars without those groundbreaking sound effects and the romantic classical score. Casting and costuming were also spot-on. John Mollo, the original costume designer, was told by George Lucas: "The audiences mustn't consciously notice the costumes. If they do, you've gone wrong." He didn't, and nor did the designer for this film.

Looking forward to the next one!
