Why go to the expense of a Freeview box? Why not just drop your package to TV M? Granted, you don't get every Freeview channel, but I personally find the missing ones no great loss. For the few that are missing, you could always put a USB stick in the back of your Sony TV and record that way.

When I was researching Freeview PVRs a couple of years ago, they all seemed to loose unused series links after six months, only had two tuners. and no Whishlist functionality. Those are a few of the reasons that I choose TV M over a Freeview PVR, when I went down the route that you are now considering.
This is one thing i will give BT credit for when my 12 month contract is up i can keep the youview box with all it's functions recording etc, unlike a certain sattelite company bt won't stop me from recording on my box if i choose not to continue with bt tv which is highly likely at this moment in time but 9 months is a long time in the world of tv subs lol.
