But king of content is not everything, and VM are hardly lacking in content; HBO being the only significant absence, which VM are powerless to do anything about.

Exclusive deals are always difficult, but in most cases, true exclusivity only lasts for a short period of time, after which you can pay to see those programmes via other content providers. So if Amazon Prime was available on the TIVO, VM viewers would at least be able to watch those programmes, and if Now TV was included, that would overcome the HBO issue.

I know some will scoff at the idea of Now TV on VM equipment, but nowhere has Sky said that they would not permit this to happen. It is in VM's hands to make it so.
