Sharing a signal between two tv's in different rooms

Hi all,

I have a tivo V+ box downstairs in my lounge and a wall mounted tv in my bedroom upstairs. I used to use a wireless video sender for a good number of years but for the last couple of months my receiver in my bedroom seems to be playing up and I think it might be time to either look for a better solution or just another units.

At the moment the TV upstairs keeps switching on/off when i have the receiver plugged in. When I unplug the receiver it stops switching on/off. I've also been having no signal and when i play about it sometimes improves but I think neighbours have all got wifi now and it wouldn't surprise me if its interference from their routers.

I'm wondering whether I should go for a 5GHz setup and it would be nice to be able to watch HD channels in the future once i update the tv(it doesn't have HDMI inputs, see my picture below). Or any thoughts of using a Slingbox with a raspberry pi instead? Is there perhaps a better solution that doesn't use wifi?

I really dont want to pay Virgin £50 to come out to install another box and to have a box mounted next to the tv, plus the extrs £6/7 a month to pay for the luxury. I dont need to be able to watch different channels between the sets just a case of streaming the current channel and to be able to change channels.

Any advice/tips very much appreciated.

This is the inputs my tv upstairs can use:
