I' m kind of struggling with the reason for the confusion here.

If I am a good customer of VM's with the XL pack and I also want Sky Atlantic, VM could help me by providing the ability to get Now TV on my box.

As it happens, I've had to buy a Roku stick to do just that.

It is true there is a lot of duplication on Now TV, but that isn't the point. The point is that it would allow you to stick with Virgin while also accessing Sky Atlantic.

Of course if you don't want to pay for duplicated services in this way, you could just move over to Sky, but that option is already available.

I am reasonably content to pay the extra €6.99 to get Sky Atlantic while remaining with Virgin.
