I have a Colonoscopy every year and have only ever been offered sedation / pain killers. Ketamine works well for me, I know I feel uncomfortable/pain during the procedure but the level of pain is just not in my memory. It's a tad like selective amnesia.

In all honesty it's the prep that I hate, all I can advise is that the less you put in at one end for around 24 hours before you start the prep the less 'work' the prep has to do.

Don't forget I'm on morphine for my legs so hopefully it'll not hurt to much. I do want to get sedation though.
