It isn't obligatory to have every single medical procedure known to man you know.
I have a Colonoscopy every year
and have only ever been offered sedation / pain killers. Ketamine works well for me, I know I feel uncomfortable/pain during the procedure but the level of pain is just not in my memory. It's a tad like selective amnesia.
In all honesty it's the prep that I hate, all I can advise is that the less you put in at one end for around 24 hours before you start the prep the less
'work' the prep has to do.
