Channel 4 Acquires German Cold War Drama ‘Deutschland 83’ For Linear Broadcast & VOD Service Walter Presents.

Channel 4 has acquired the UK linear broadcast and VOD rights to the critically acclaimed German Cold War drama series after striking a deal with international distributor FremantleMedia International, TVWise has learned.

TVWise understands that Sky1 – who held first window rights to the first nine seasons of the show (BBC had a repeat window) – is close to a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Fox’s six episode The X-Files revival series. Representatives of Sky declined to comment.

UKTV’s Watch Channel Fast Tracks ‘Grimm’, Will Air Season 5 Close Behind U.S. Broadcast

After typically airing new seasons some weeks if not months after they start on NBC in the United States, The company’s flagship entertainment channel Watch has announced plans to fast track to upcoming fifth season of supernatural thriller Grimm. The new season will premiere on the channel on Tuesday November 3rd at 9pm – mere days after it premieres state-side.
