pad for suggesting changing the outgoing SMTP server to mail.tesco.net - solved a problem that's been bugging me since I switched to Tesco Broadband !
I used to be with Powergen ISP (which was then taken over by Breathe) but I still managed to send and receive my e-mail when I switched to AOL.  But when I went to Tesco I could only receive, not send.  I didn't want to use Tesco's webmail or change my existing PGen address so I spent hours on Google looking for a solution to the dreaded "Error Number: 0x800ccc0e" messages.
I'm just annoyed that Tesco don't seem to have some relevant FAQs, just a helpline where I couldn't speak to a real person after holding for 35 minutes.
