Japanese TV have been trialling 8k broadcasts for a while, they hope to have consumer sets available for a 2020 launch, VM with their fast broadband network should be a major player in 4k and 8k delivery, something tells me they will get left behind.

Ps I have a 65 inch 4k HDR capable TV, I have been playing around with some HDR demos which have obviously been enhanced to provide real pop, but reading an interview with a cinematographer I tend to agree with his view that most of life is dull, your watching a movie set in downtown Harlem, you ain't going to see many highlights that make you go wow, with more pixels though you could maybe feel the grain in the bricks, even at 4k on 65inch I feel I could see more detail than I am being presented with I do feel I need to add some sharpness even though I don't.
