No surprise if the authorities turned a blind eye to the trade under their noses that more traffickers and gangs moved in to take advantage of easy pickings.
Whilst apprehending the traffickers, eventually, is to be applauded, I would like to see those who were negligent in allowing this to happen to carry the can as well. Sadly they'll have "retired" or "been moved" or it "won't be in the public interest" The ususal excuses for not prosecuting establishment figures.
