If you're still using your Virgin/NTLWorld/Blueyonder email account, I would strongly advise you to drop it and move to another email provider that's separate from your ISP.

Doesn't matter if it's Gmail, Hotmail (aka Outlook), even Yahoo, anything is better than using your ISP address, which might suddenly stop working because they've arbitrarily decided to switch providers.

Oh and I'd bet cold, hard cash that emails will go missing during this migration - they always do.
