I don't think it's the number as much as the constasnt banging on about how bad anything realted to labour is.
I think your signatures over the months sort of says all there is to say about 'obsession'.

But ignoring someone costing nearly twice as much (10 years ago) to protect their 3 houses (1 rumoured to have cost £3 million) does seem a strange way to point out hypocrisy. I would say if someone can afford that sort of property then they could well cover the security costs.
Oh and no chip on my shoulder - I think paying for the protection of Tony Blair is wrong but only about half as wrong as paying for John Major
