Temper your sadness re the donation of a pancreas with the certainty that the loved ones of the donor would be delighted if their loss gave someone life. I certainly aim to send a letter to the family of the donor to tell them how much I appreciate the gift.

I think I can do that via the transplant centre as I am not allowed to know the donor.
