It's actually been an abysmal campaign by Tories and Labour, the Lib Dems largely anonymous, UKIP a shambles. The SNP's campaign has been 'okay' but compared to the competition has looked excellent.
This is actually the most dire election I can remember in terms of campaign, issues, policies.

If the public don't wake up soon to the fact that we are not going to be able to spend our way out of this, the thought of emigrating from this country will suddenly become very appealing.

Quite right. A freeze on rents for three years will just encourage landlords to start the rent at a much higher rate than otherwise it would have been.
If Labour go on to control rents, it will simply make it uneconomic to buy to rent, and that will mean there will be less properties available for renting. And guess what, that will put up rents.
Crazy, crazy Labour, they really have no idea at all.
