Yeah things were sooooooo much better then....
If more of those lefty loonies who bang on about BL cars actually put their money where their mouths were at the time maybe they'd have survived a bit longer.
As for British Rail - I remember countless cancellations, disgusting trains/stations, numerous strikes, etc. etc. Yes they were indeed the glory days of train travel in the UK.
