you don't need a managed switch at all, it is far too complicated for you to use. All you need is a decent router. The reason why the shub can't do it is only because VM like to keep things as basic as possible and didn't want to add it as a feature.
As an fyi this is an absolutely superb
router for many reasons and will do the trick for you. You might not like the price tag but it is the difference between having a proper router and cheap isp supplied naff.
