Boris Johnson is no fool despite his positioning himself as one occasionally and it's paid dividends for him with many underestimating him in the process and I have no doubt he'll be the one taking the job when Dave disappears. Sadly though he isn't that old school a Tory as he's more in step with IDS then true conservative beliefs which were to provide for the vulnerable who through no fault of their own needed help a lot of Tories have forgotten that part of what they were. Only obstacle to him is what if any backlash there might be against the public school brigade should they lose the election by those Tories that will be keen to distance themselves.
