There is only so far you can get by appealing to a disaffected electorate. Unless the country really is going off the rails then I would imagine moderate voters are going to look for a certain degree of competency from those they elect.

Maybe the Greens have costed this but this interview confirms an impression many would have that these is a policy they've pulled out of thin air because it sounds good. Let's face it, that probably is what has happened.

These people are asking to be elected into positions of actual power where they'll influence lives and whilst they won't win anywhere near enough seats to either form a Government or from a significant part of a coalition they could still represent a consistuency.
