Agreed, restricting to 90 days would actually be crazy and a reduction in service. Like you I keep recordings much longer than that and typically watch a whole series well after it was originally shown.
If VM ONLY had a cloud base option for storing recordings and limiting them to 90 days availability it would be exit time for me. In fact more I think about this, it would be commercial suicide for VM IMHO
Cloud based storage is normally limited by capacity not time anyway so that is the route I expect VM to go down. It may be a case of 500MB cloud storage free then pay for uplifts in 500MB increments, but what you store and how long is up to you.
